If it pollutes the air we breathe, it’s not clean energy. But Governor Baker is trying to let funds set aside for renewable energy pay for more wood and trash incineration in our state. There are two things you can do!
1) Join us on Wednesday, May 29 in Springfield, MA to tell the Dept. of Energy Resources to drop all plans to count incineration as renewable energy!
2) Send a letter to Governor Baker and the Dept. of Energy Resources to stop these changes today: https://actionnetwork.org/…/send-a-letter-burning…/

For 10 years, @Arise for Social Justice and other groups have been fighting off a biomass incinerator in Springfield to protect the air we breathe. But under Governor Baker’s proposed changes, that incinerator could make a comeback—and we need to stop it. Send a letter today to ask Governor Baker and the Dept. of Energy Resources to drop all plans to count incineration as renewable energy, and join us at the public hearing in Springfield on Wed. May 29! https://actionnetwork.org/…/send-a-letter-burning-trash…

Why would we pay polluters with funds set aside for renewable energy? Clean energy doesn’t come out of a smokestack. Clean energy doesn’t come out of a smokestack. But Governor Baker and the Dept. of Energy Resources are trying to use money set aside for renewable energy to burn wood and trash. This puts Springfield and other environmental justice communities in harm’s way and we can’t let that happen. Send a letter today to tell Governor Baker and the Dept. of Energy Resources to drop plans to count incineration as renewable energy. https://actionnetwork.org/…/send-a-letter-burning-trash…
