George Wuerthner is Wilderness Watch’s Advocate-Organizer. He is a noted ecologist author, and activist, has visited more than 400 designated Wilderness Areas in the U.S. His presentation will cover the early years of the Wilderness movement, the creation of the national Wilderness Act and Wilderness System, threats to wilderness, both physical and philosophical, and why wildlands protection is the best way to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
